Are you a Grades 3-12 Teacher?
Â
Yes? Great, I've got a couple questions for you...
→ Are you baffled by what your students do with data?
→ Are you confused by the claims many of your students make from graphs?
→ Are you wondering how to teach data skills on top of all your other content topics?
Our students need to quickly build critical data skills before the upcoming state tests this spring in which they will be asked to make sense of data. We know your plate is already full, so let us help make this easy and effective for you right now.Â
But how can we do this quickly with SO many other things already on our plates?

Next SessionÂ
March 3, 2026: Upgrade the Claim: Helping Students Level Up Their Data-Based Conclusions
Learn practical strategies to boost student reasoning with strategies to turn evidence into powerful insights.
In this training you'll discover how to:
✨ Teach Students to “Upgrade the Claim” from Any Graph
Help students move beyond basic takeaways (“it goes up”) to clear, specific, data-based conclusions grounded in what the visualization actually shows.
✨ Strengthen Reasoning — Not Just Answers
Learn a simple routine for helping students explain why their claim makes sense, using patterns, comparisons, and key features in the graph as support.Â
✨ Build Assessment-Ready Sensemaking in Minutes
Use quick, repeatable prompts that help students interpret provided data visualizations (like those on state math and science tests) — without adding extra planning time.Â

What Can You Expect? Meeting You Where You Are:
Â
đź“… Strategy Share Out (Live, 1 hour)
Our Strategy Share Out offers hands-on, themed activities that help educators deepen students’ data sensemaking skills.
 Each session includes:
âś” Classroom and school-ready strategies
We feature routines, Do Now/Exit Ticket activities, and data protocols that teachers can lead with their students — along with guidance administrators can use to support their staff.
✔ Differentiated content for teachers and administrators
Each month has a clear theme, and we tailor examples and discussions to match the needs of participants that month.
✔ Practical for all experience levels
We anchor strategies in skills expected of middle school learners and adjust up or down based on the student realities of who’s in the room. Experience varies widely — and that’s okay. We meet you where you are.
✔ Early-access resources when you register
Participants receive a resource document with:
- Slide deck
- Full recording (before it goes public)
- Downloadable materials
- Links to additional resources
- Updates based on the live discussion
 ✔ Open to anyone
Teachers, administrators, specialists, coaches, and district leaders are all welcome.
🎥 Ask Me Anything (Recorded, 20–30 minutes)
Have a question about the month’s theme? Or any data-related question? Submit it!
 We gather questions through our:
- Live Strategy Share Out
- Quick “Ask Us” online submission form: https://dataspire.tiny.us/ask-usÂ
- Social media channels: LinkedIn; Facebook; Facebook Group; or YouTube
- Email: [email protected]
Then we answer them during a short, focused recorded Ask Me Anything, which we publish on our YouTube channel the Tuesday following each Strategy Share Out.
Together, let's continue advancing education for our students, one actionable data skill at a time.
Why Join?
Our goal is simple: Help you feel more confident teaching (and supporting teaching) with data — one small, meaningful step at a time.
You’ll leave each session with:
âś“ Instruction-ready strategies you can use the next day
âś“ Increased confidence to try new data routines
âś“ Fresh ideas to boost student engagement and sensemaking
âś“ Free, high-quality resources you can revisit anytime
And if you attend regularly, you’ll build a deeper toolkit and a growing understanding of what data literacy looks like in K–12 classrooms.
